Nicknamed "The Ghost Shrink". Doctor Harvey was once a normal psychiatrist. When his beloved wife, Amelia died, he was left to care for his daughter, Kat, but found life as a single parent difficult. Now he travels from town to town searching for his wifes spirit. Along the way, he helps other ghosts, dubbed "the living impared", to find peace. With a phone call he gets from Carrigan Crittenden for help, he winds up making his way to Whipstaff Manor. Both he and his daughter get a few suprises when they arrive.

Lovely and sensitive Kat, short for Kathy, wants nothing more than to lead a normal teenage life. Moving from town to town as her father searches for her late mothers ghost has made this impossible. Kat misses her mom and loves her dad, but she longs to settle down and find true and lasting friends...and finding a boyfriend would be nice too. Luckily for her when she gets to Whipstaff with her father she seems to make a friend out of Casper... and some may argue that it's more. Even though she seems to have a crush on a certain guy named Vic too. In the TV series she's far more sarcastic than she is in the movie. As continued from the movie Kat also seems to have a thing for Vic, but ignores Casper a little too much, despite the fact that they seemed so close in the movie. Also back in the TV series is Amber but she's got a lovely little group of friends following her now, ugh, still snobby as ever too.
